First of all, I gotta show you some of my fabric stash from my trip!
Lots of designer prints, flannel, a few zippers, linens, and even some knits (although I don’t know if I dare)
I bought my first PDF pattern online from the Butterfly Tree shop at Etsy. I’ve been wanting to make little boy ties for a long time, but couldn’t find the right skinny tie style. This pattern rocked! There are several patterns included from age 0-12 yrs. The ones I made are adjustable from age 0 to 2 yrs. Velcro and reversible!
I got my hands on Anna Maria Horner’s book, Handmade Beginnings
That quilt in the background…that’s why I wanted this book in the first place. I started that project this weekend. Lets just say it’s a lot of cutting.
The book has adorable pictures. I don’t know what’s cuter, that baby’s face or the jacket?
I attempted my own Baby-in-the-Hood Jacket. Size fits 3-6 months.
It’s lined with soft yellow polka dot flannel.
Remember those hexagons my MIL busted out during conference? Guess who got hand stitched potholders for Christmas?
Pardon my use of cell phone pictures.
Here’s a reversible toddler apron I made for my new niece. I also have an adult hostess apron I made a few months ago in the same fabric.
It’s been a while since I’ve made baby kimono shoes.
I almost forgot how.
Perfect for Valentines Day don’t ya think?

I’m always amazed by your talent? Do you have an etsy shop or something? I HAVE to get one of those ties for Fox!!
And I didn’t mean to put a question mark at the end of that first sentence, it was supposed to be an “!!!”
:)
Thanks for the awesome tie pattern recommendation! I’ve been looking for a good one too… this will be perfect for some ties for Emerson.
And love those baby kimono shoes! You are so so talented!
awesome fabrics. and i love love love the little ties and jacket! goodness, now i neeeeeed to go and make these too!
I love your projects Diane. The adult hostess apron turned out super cute!
love the jacket! I’ve always thought that AMH pattern was darling. Yours is even cuter than the original! Seriously, cute :)
Those ties are the bomb! I agree.. you need an etsy shop… or I need to spend more time sewing and less time bringing home the money. Wish that could be fact rather than fiction ;)
Those ties?! Oh my gosh. I need one for Hudson. Seriously. I will send you $$$. Tell me how much.
You have skills. Sewing is on my I want to do that list. Someday. You are my inspiration.
You are so talented. And will have the best dressed kids ever. The best part is it’s all made with love. I want a tie or two or three. You need to open up a shop girl. Super cute!!!!
Could I have you make a tie for Josh’s baptism? I’ll pay you!!!
You are really good at sewing Diane!! I love all the projects you have.
I have the same question. Do you have a shop on Etsy or will you sell me a tie? Can they be made for older boys? My little guy is about to turn four and I would LOVE one for him. Let me know.
Diane,
So the consensus is you need to quit your day job and open an etsy shop or fabric shop! Those ties are awesome and I love all your new fabric. You amaze me!!
