We didn’t even decorate pumpkins this year. But when I read about this wreath from Woman’s Day magazine, we decided to go for it. Fernando was very excited about using a hot glue gun…until he burnt his fingers. Our wreath looked fabulous for a total of 2 days…
Sadly we never documented those 2 days.
This is how our porch looks now. I’m sure our neighbors love us.
Does anybody know how to make a candy wreath last? We sprayed it with Krylon Preserve It, and it obviously didn’t work.
Maybe ModgePodge?

Randomly, Dan was reading the Woman’s Day magazine with that wreath in it and really wanted to make one. Maybe next year :) Yours looks great, that’s too bad it didn’t hold up. I think ModgePodge is about the greatest thing since sliced bread and put nothing past its amazing-ness. If we end up making one someday, I’ll give the ModgePodge a try and let you know.
i saw that too and LOVED it. i was worried the same thing would happen though.
LAME! Sorry. My sister Saunja made one and i think hers held up. No idea what she did, you can email her if you’d like:

And yea, Mod podge sounds like a hopful route….
I’d try water based polyurethane. LOTS of it. At least two THICK coats.
A friend of mine made the exact same wreath. I dont know if hers held up, I will have to ask her and find out what she used if it held up.
