My main hobby is collecting fabric, but occasionally I will whip something up.
It’s been WAY too long since I posted about the last sewing experiment. But I have been sewing A LOT lately since work has been non existent. Everything I do is for baby. And I have decided to keep it that way after attempting to sew a full/queen sized quilt for the R.S. humanitarian aid service project a few months ago. I am now an expert at picking out stitches.
Baby is just better, and cuter in my opinion. Plus just about every body I know is pregnant right now and these make great gifts.
Nursing covers and matching burp cloths.
I buy the white baby diapers in the automotive section at Target, great advice from a good friend. They are softer and more absorbent than a regular baby diaper.
Moda Rouenneries charm pack
I finished this one back in November I think.
Pinwheels and Prairie Points in Hunky Dory by Jodi from Moda Bakeshop
I got a serger for Christmas. I’m still not sure how to use it, but these blankets are the quickest things to do.
Baby Life Quilt in Make Life from the lovely Vanessa at V and Co.
It should say “poop” huh? Vanessa thinks so too. Maybe the next one will.
Etsy is a serious lifesaver for finding fabric. There just aren’t good stores here in Houston. Most of the fabric I order from Etsy comes straight from Provo. Provo must have some great stores I just don’t know about.
The R.S. humanitarian aid quilt
All the fabric was donated by members of my ward and all I had to do was cut and sew. What a beast to sew 80″ x 80″. Glad that one is over. Definitely not my proudest or cutest project. I took these pictures with my phone, definitely not the best lighting.
Today’s eye candy. I don’t know if I can get myself to cut it.

Holy cow! I love them all, you are very talented. I took a beginner sewing class and we made an apron, it was really hard for me haha. I love the quilts!
Wow Diane, you are seriously talented. I wish we lived closer so you could give me lessons. I got gipped with zero ability in the craft department. I love the baby’s life quilt, and yes it should definitely include poop :)
oh they all turned out so beautifully!! makes me want to sew more… right now! are you still up for fabric shopping saturday?
Love, love, LOVE the eat, play, sleep quilt! I need sewing lessons from you, girl! Bring your machine up here and we’ll have a sewing party.
Diane! Wow! I am so impressed. Those quilts are amazing! I especially love the pinwheel one.
Everything you made is so beautiful! Do you have an etsy shop? I serious need to buy some of your stuff for baby shower gifts. How’s life treating you? We need to catch up. I’m home all the time. Call me when your free.
Diane, you amaze me! You are so talented you could go into business. I love them all and wish I had time to create such lovely things. Have you seen those cute fabric reusable bags you take shopping? I’ll have to forward you the site because I bet you could whip those up in no time!
Someday you will have to teach me your mad skills. I have no idea how to sew the most basic thing. I’m very impressed!
you have been BUSY Diane.
Cool stuff!
Your “Eat, Play, Sleep, Repeat” quilt is my good friend Vanessa’s design! Fun to see that you made one.
keep going. It’s cool to see what you do. I had no idea you were such a quilter too.
Diane, You really should sale your stuff I’ve been telling you that for years. You are one talented girl. I’de buy your shopping bags from you if you do make them.

I love all the projects Diane. You totally inspire me to sew more!
All of those projects are so CUTE! My daughter was given a quilt with that pinwheel design. I love how you put those triangle tabs around yours.
Everything looks so good, you could have a full time job selling that stuff.
