Ferd and I are trying to limit ourselves to eating out once a week. That’s hard when there are so many good restaurants to choose from. However, one type of cuisine we haven’t been able to find is good Chinese food. I got this tip from my patient earlier this week. It’s called Qin Dynasty located off of Buffalo Spdwy and the 59, next to Starbucks.
This is some of the best Chinese food I have experienced. Not greasy in any way, great portion size, and fantastic presentation. We ordered chicken and veggie dumplings for an appetizer, sweet and sour pork, pineapple seafood fried rice, and shrimp & chicken with cashew nuts. They have a nice menu selection and two pages of sushi and sashimi, which made me wonder, is it a Chinese or Japanese restaurant. I guess the answer is Hunan. Either way it is delicious. It was a nice atmosphere with a live piano player and Terracotta Warrior like decor. Prices range from $12-25 per dish. Again, portion size was pretty good.

OK, so although the food was amazing, I was totally distracted all night by this crazy granny sitting by us with her poor husband. The granny lady would randomly shout obscenities, and we couldn’t tell if she was chewing out her husband or not. I managed to pick up a few words like “I wish I was dead!”, “&*%# homosexuals”, and “if this food has even a speck of pepper in it I’m sending it straight back to the kitchen!” (which she did 3 times). After the third time, the poor Chinese server (or manager) said, “I don’t know what to do, we keep making new one with no pepper and you won’t eat!” She ended up not eating at all. Anyway, it was an amusing scene by all of us who were witnesses, but Fernando genuinely felt bad for her husband who didn’t really say anything the whole night.
